29 April 2013 – Hello Central America!!

We arrived in Porvenir by 7am in order for the immigration officer to come aboard to stamp our passports and then had to sail to Carti where we got off the boat onto the Panamanian mainland. The unloading of the bike was again a clumsy affair onto a pier however it at least didn’t get dropped into the water! From there it was a short ride of 125km into Panama city where I am spending two nights in the old part of the city known as Casco Viejo in order to get laundry and admin done.

Be a sport Many of us have the means and wherewithal to undertake the dreams we want but elect to choose otherwise, many however, do not and that is the purpose of this plea. Afrika Tikkun (http://afrikatikkun.org// ) is a South African non governmental, non profit charity organisation run by the Lubner family that in essence does just that; re-provide the possibility to dream and to create the possibility of turning those dreams into a reality.

Unlike many pleas of this nature, I am not looking for any kind of sponsorship for my trip, but I am looking for your donation, regardless of its size to Afrika Tikkun. Please pledge generously as this is a fantastic cause that will assist them to provide food, care, education, health and social services to those that are desperately in need.

    Last time we got off a Cat after 10 days at sea, I looked like I was the captain of the Russian Vodka drinking team!! How does that work with old fatty between your legs?? Please send video!

    Enjoyed every single photo. What an experience. It certainly beats the daily drum drum routine of the city.. Just one aside.”Five days in Cartagena doing nothing and another five on the Cat and no time to shave?Must I DHL a packet of blades? Have fun son.
